WAX Atelier re-visits traditional techniques ranging from candle dipping to crafted textiles, using natural wax.

WAX Atelier is a London-based studio founded in 2017 by multi-disciplinary designers Lola Lely and Yesenia Thibault-Picazo. We specialise in creating one-of-a-kind, handcrafted wax products and beeswax candles. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We source most of our materials locally and manufacture our products in small batches using low impact processes.

Our diverse team is the cornerstone of WAX Atelier. We train and employ local people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, creating a vibrant and collaborative environment. Comprising experienced artisans, established designers, and budding apprentices, we come together to create beautiful products that respect the planet.

We are captivated by the narrative and expressive potential of natural wax—a precious material that inspires us to push the boundaries of craft and design. This inherent materiality makes wax easy to work with, enabling the creation of diverse pieces using simple tools.

As a natural by-product of honey production and various plants, wax embodies a commitment to environmental responsibility. Its circular nature allows for endless reuse through melting and reshaping, minimising waste.
